Countryside and temples by e-bike
This is a cycling tour that uses an e-bike to explore the nature, culture, and lifestyle around Kochi New Port. You will be able to experience the unique and untouched rural Japan seldom seen by tourists. You will visit two of the temples that make up the famous Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage. After a peaceful unhurried day of bicycling you will arrive back at the cruise ship port.

Details of Tour / Activity
You will meet your guide a short walk from the cruise port and take a brief shuttle ride to the mouth of the Niyodo river. While watching surfers enjoy the waves where this beautiful river meets the sea you will receive an easy tutorial on the use of your e-bike. Even for those who don't cycle often, the e-bike makes it easy to navigate hilly terrain and experience Japan's beautiful landscape on this one-day trip.
Now it’s time to ride! As we start you can see Kochi’s beautiful scenery where the mountains meet the sea. After a nice warm up we will arrive at Shoryu-ji Temple, a beautiful temple tucked into the hillside of the Yokonami peninsula. Leaving Shoryu-ji Temple we will ride through tranquil coastal villages where you can see unique historic storehouses. Later we will make our way through an amazing bamboo forest before we arrive at the ferry. On the ferry you can observe the busy Kochi port area and see a vista of mountains surrounding this coastal city. Disembarking from the ferry we will climb to arrive at Chikurin-ji Temple. Known as the one of the most beautiful temples in Kochi, this temple’s colorful exterior will captivate your senses and sooth your mind.
After touring the beautiful Chikurin-ji Temple, a short ride will bring us back to the cruise port. You can embark on the next leg of your journey knowing that you have seen a spectacular part of Japan that few will ever experience.

-Please let us know your height when making your reservation for correct bicycle sizing.
-This tour is available for English speaking guests.
-The itinerary may be changed due to time considerations.
-Payment may be made in advance through online payment or bank transfer.
-If heavy rain or strong winds are expected, the tour will be canceled and refunded (decision made the day before).
In the case of light rain, we will proceed with the tour.
