A Geological Trek Across the Dragon
A glass bottom boat takes you over a vibrant coral reef teeming with fish on the way to the geological wonderland of the Minokoshi Coast.
Here, an entertaining guided coastal hike will take you tens of thousands of years back in time. See all manner of strange (and very photographable) features and learn about their, sometimes surprising, origins. Marvel at sudden crevices that glow with bright blue water, sit in mermaid caves and ponder the processes that created formations more akin to art than nature.
This tour ends with a lush forest walk and a beautiful 360-degree hilltop view of the surrounding National Park.

1 min walk from Tatsukushi Kaiyokan-mae Bus Stop (Kochi Seinan Kotsu Bus)
From Sukumo Station (Tosa Kuroshio Line) take the bus bound for Shimizu Plaza Pal-mae (45 mins). If coming from Nakamura Station, take a bus bound for Ashizuri Cape and transfer at Shimizu Plaza Pal-mae bus stop to a bus bound for Sukumo Station (90-180 mins).
*Note that buses may run infrequently.
Details of Tour / Activity
Meet at Ashizuri Uwakai National Park Tatsukushi Visitor Center uminowa, where you will be given an overview of the marine park, before heading over to the port.
From the port you will take a glass bottom boat across to the Minokoshi Coast (20 minutes). On the way, you can see table corals and tropical fish.
A tour guide will accompany you to the Minokoshi coast and show you the strange rocks that have been formed by natural erosion.
On the second part of the tour you will climb up a hill to the viewing platform, which offers panoramic views of the vivid blue waters and rocky coast of Tatsukushi Bay.
From there, the tour makes its way back to the harbor and you will again take a glass bottomed boat back to the Visitor Center to conclude the tour.

If the boat is cancelled due to bad weather or sea conditions, we will walk around Tatsukushi Coast instead.
